What's collected, and where it lives
By default, Cahya works entirely as a guest: nothing you do is sent anywhere. Your check-ins (which prayer, whether it was at home, a mosque, or in public, a location, an optional note, and a timestamp), your optional home-base coordinate, your last known location fix, and anything waiting to sync are stored only in this browser, encrypted at rest.
Your display name, avatar, and language preference are stored the same way but unencrypted, since none of it is sensitive.
Coordinates are rounded to roughly 11 centimeters of precision before they're ever saved; nothing more precise than that is kept.
If you create an account
Account sign-up is built but not switched on yet; every Cahya install today runs in guest mode. When it launches, creating an account will store your username, email, and a securely hashed password (never your plain password) on a server we run ourselves, in our own database (not a third-party data broker or ad platform). Your check-ins would move with your account the same way they work as a guest.
There's no self-service "delete my account" button yet. Until there is, email us and we'll take care of it by hand.
Outside services
Two things outside Cahya's own code see limited technical data whenever the app is open:
- Map tiles, from OpenFreeMap: loading the map sends them your IP address and the general area you're viewing, the same way any map provider works.
- Web fonts, from Google Fonts: loading Cahya's typeface sends Google your IP address, the same as any site using a font CDN.
Neither receives your check-ins, your name, or anything else Cahya stores. There's no analytics SDK, crash reporter, or advertising code anywhere in the app.
Location access
Cahya asks for location only to pin a check-in and to center the map on you. It never runs in the background, and it's entirely optional: you can decline it or revoke it later in your device or browser settings, and the app still works without it.
Your controls
From Account → Sign out, you can:
- Sign out and keep your data: leaves everything as-is on this device, so it's there the next time you continue as a guest.
- Delete this device's data: clears your check-in history from this device. It doesn't currently clear a saved home base, last location fix, or offline queue; uninstalling the app removes all of it, or email us and we'll help.
For anything else (a data question, a request, a correction), write to support@cahya-app.com.
Children
Cahya isn't directed at children, and we don't knowingly collect data from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has used the app and provided data, contact us and we'll remove it.
Changes to this policy
If what Cahya collects or how it's handled changes, this page changes with it, and the date at the top will move. We won't quietly expand what's collected without updating this page first.
